Course Objective:
This course will provide a review of the Social Security System including the history of the system, how benefits are calculated, what basic benefits are available and how to maximize benefits while considering tax issues. The current state of the Social Security system is also important to understand. We will review when benefits can be applied for and the effect that will have on the overall benefits. Modified Adjust Gross Income is important to understand when it comes to taxation so we will review how it is calculated. The effect of other income and assets in retirement can affect much Social Security can be subject to income. Through case studies we will review the taxation of Social Security in conjunction with other assets commonly used in retirement income planning and assets that may lower the overall tax bill for your clients. This course is for three of General Insurance CE credits.
