This course defines innovation and disruption and outlines how these two concepts apply to the P & C Claims Environment. Participants will define InsurTech and review examples of emerging disruptions relevant to the P&C agent. With a focus on the impact to the claims and underwriting processes, students will explore technological innovations in insurance. By examining the impact of technology, learners will understand how the agents role is evolving as it relates to consumer expectations dealing with the claims process and the impact on bad faith litigation. Finally, participants will address appropriate coverage for emerging technologies by examining changes in ISO forms, as well as appropriate endorsements that impact coverage, and state specific guidelines.
